The Railway Service Commission, Guwahati was established in 1979. It was later renamed as Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati in the year 1985. It is functioning under the administrative control of Railway Recruitment Control Board, Railway Board, New Delhi.

रेलवे सेवा आयोग, गुवाहाटी की स्थापना 1979 में हुई थी। बाद में इसका नाम बदलकर वर्ष 1985 में रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड, गुवाहाटी कर दिया गया। यह रेलवे भर्ती नियंत्रण बोर्ड, रेलवे बोर्ड, नई दिल्ली के प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण में कार्य कर रहा है।

The Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati undertakes the recruitment of Group "C" staff in Technical and Non-Technical Categories for following units of N. F. Railway:

            N. F. Railway Headquarters, Maligaon एन.एफ. रेलवे मुख्यालय, मालीगांव,
            Tinsukia Division तिनसुकिया मंडल,
            Lumding Division and लामडिंग मंडल और
            Rangia Division रंगिया मंडल

Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati is headed by the Chairman who is assisted by an Assistant Secretary. The names of the present incumbents are as follows - रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड, गुवाहाटी का प्रमुख अध्यक्ष होता है जिसकी सहायता के लिए एक सहायक सचिव होता है। वर्तमान पदाधिकारियों के नाम इस प्रकार हैं -
